The role

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Operations Officer (Forklift) to join our team at our Berrimah, NT site. This is a permanent part-time position, working two days per week (8:00am to 4:00pm). This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where you'll work both indoors and outdoors across a variety of terrains, including gravel surfaces, supporting the movement and storage of vehicles within our salvage operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a 7-tonne forklift to load, unload, and relocate vehicles safely throughout the site.
  • Move vehicles within operational areas and on open loading pads to support insurer customer requirement.
  • Record stock movements and conduct vehicle stocktakes using handheld technology.
  • Maintain organised and efficient vehicle storage areas within the salvage yard.
  • Contribute to a safe, clean, and productive working environment.

About You

We're looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to safety.

You'll also bring:

  • A current Forklift Licence (LF) and Australian Driver's Licence.
  • A strong commitment to workplace safety and safe operating practices.
  • Basic computer literacy and confidence using handheld technology.
  • The ability to work effectively in outdoor operational environments.
  • Previous experience in forklift operations, stock control, yard operations, or vehicle handling (desirable).
  • Knowledge of or interest in the automotive or insurance industries (desirable).
  • Current First Aid certification (desirable).

As part of the recruitment process, you must be willing to complete background checks (Police and Work Rights) and a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening. Please note that random drug and alcohol testing is conducted onsite.
